Yesterday we had a chance to see 8 films submitted to the festival by our Middle School filmmakers!
It was a fun after school with popcorn, coke and some great laughs!
Check out the films and vote for the Audience Choice award! Winners will be announced in Monday's assembly. Enjoy!
The Digital Video class is working on their first suspense/mystery/horror movie. Besides analysing a number of elements that are common, different and effective in these genre, we watched Hitchcock's Psycho, and two award-winner short films that quite scary.
Pedro Caltabiano, one of the students in class has shared with us this video that fits well our topic. Thanks for sharing Pedro!
Every quarter in Digital Video class, students are expected to turn in at least one individual assignment. This quarter, they could choose to produce a music video, or a documentary.
The Digital Video I students were asked to create a short film, of a theme of their choice, to practice two basic things: framing scenes and using dialog for the first time in class.
To get the class started on the basic film techniques and post production skills, the class had to work in groups to create a silent movie. check out the results!
Last week, the Digital Video II class covered the first Renaissance Fair we had in the Middle School.
We worked together to capture as much footage of the event as possible. In class, students were introduced to the basics of Final Cut Pro, and had to deliver a music video of the event.
This was their first assignment this semester, and I believe they are all off to a good start :)
